    Description

The Emptied Nest is presenting this rare historical Union Pacific Railroad~Syracuse China Company matching necklace and earrings set.
This unique jewelry set is handcrafted from broken pieces of ceramic china in the "Historical" pattern of the Syracuse China Company's old ivory-colored style china.  It features the images that encircled the rim of the Syracuse dishes which were used in the Union Pacific Railroad Diners.  These china pieces have been set in sterling silver by a jewelry designer, attributed to Donald Cavalli (Ogden, UT, USA), circa early to mid 1900s.
The images shown on the Syracuse china include the Union Pacific shield logo with Overland banner, pony express, stage coach, Native American with bow and arrow near teepee settlement, Conestoga wagon (necklace), and railroad locomotive (earrings), all from the original china service.
The provenance indicates that this china was last ordered on November 9, 1945, and these patterns were used exclusively on the Overland Ltd. and Los Angeles Ltd. starting in 1927.
The necklace measures approximately 19 3/4" long; the earrings are approximately 7/8" wide.  This set is in good condition consistent with age and wear.  The current owner's father was an employee with the Union Pacific Railroad for much of his life.  Despite great sentimental value, she is ready to pass this collector's set on to another nest.  A very knowledgeable vintage jewelry appraiser recently viewed these items and determined all to be fully authentic.
Shipping is free.  The items are carefully wrapped and shipped with signature required upon delivery.
Don't wait to add this rare set to your collection.  It may not last long.
    Thank you for stopping by.
