Description
I AM NOT SELLING AN OLD KIT, only a new, full-size PLAN from the 1955 Berkeley's 71"
J-3 CUB
kit that revolutionized RC from old time 1940s free flights into true scale models that flew well.
When Chuck Hollinger's famous pure scale, rudder-only RC
PIPER J-3 CUB
model was first published, it became instantly popular. Using a Fox .19 & with plug-in, knock-off wing panels so they would pop off in hard landings and not destroy the plane, the world of RC was changed forever.
Berkeley bought the
PLAN
from Chuck and produced and sold this kit for years and years.
I LOOKED FOR OVER 50 YEARS FOR A COPY OF ORIGINAL KIT PLANS THAT BERKELEY PRINTED. I FINALLY FOUND A PLAN THANKS TO MONTY BAKER FROM WEST VIRGINIA. THE KIT
PLAN
IS TOO WIDE FOR TODAY'S ZEROX COMMERCIAL COPIERS. I HAD TO FOLD IT LENGTHWISE AND MAKE A TOP HALF AND BOTTOM HALF FOR YOUR USE. ALSO THE RIGHT BOTTOM CORNER HAD DARKENED IN 62 YEARS SINCE ORIGINALLY BEING PRINTED ON HIGHLY ACIDIC PAPER. MY COPY FIRM HAS DONE A VERY GOOD JOB OF COPYING THESE ANCIENT KIT PLANS AS YOU CAN SEE.
I AM NOT SELLING A KIT,
only a TWO full-size copies---one each of the top and bottom halves of the 1955 Berkeley RC kit
PLAN
for the 71" span
Piper J-3 CUB
